THE YEAR STARTED OFF WITH A FUNDRAISER IN PARTNERSHIP WITH QUICK QUACK CARWASH (ARLINGTON). BARBARACARES WAS CHOSEN AS THE CHARITY ORGANIZATION TO BE FEATURED DURING QUICK QUACKS NEWEST STORE GRAND OPENING. WITH COMPANY TRADITION WHEREVER THERE IS A GRAND OPENING, THE COMPANY HOSTS A FREE CAR WASH COMMUNITY FUNDRAISER FOR A LOCAL ORGANIZATION THAT SERVES THE COMMUNITY. BARBARACARES IS GRATEFUL FOR THE KINDNESS AND GENEROSTY OF QUICK QUACK AND FOR THE PRIvilege WE HAVE TO HELP OUR COMMUNITY THROUGH ADVOCACY EFFORTS. 2nd Annual Black Men In White Coats Youth Summit @ the UNT Health Science Center in Fort Worth, Texas. barbaracares joined other community health organizations to share resources to parents, and PRE HEALTH-ADVISORS onsite.
an exciting day during black history month to highlight african american medical professionals while also adovcating for breast cancer awareness. black women are statisically more likely to die from breast cancer and be diagnosed at a later stage. this event allowed barbaracares the opportunity to encourage attendees to get screened, know their risks, and to committ to sharing information to others within their sphere of influence. With Valentine's approaching, BarbaraCares provided themed giveaway bags full of helpful tips and self-care items, along with a mammogram event schedule and coupon card to schedule a screening.

Today was a beautiful day filled with purpose! Our Executive Director was honored to present on behalf of @barbaracaresfoundation at the 2nd Annual Healthy Youth, Healthy Schools, Healthy Community Conference at Dunbar High School. Our focus was on three pivotal objectives aimed at fostering health equity, in alignment with the FWISD’s Whole School, Whole Child, Whole Community model.
Key takeaways from our session:
1. **Raise Awareness and Understanding** of health equity issues.
2. **Equip Educators with Resources** to support our youth, parents and community effectively.
3. **Advocate for Expanded Access** to health resources for all.

BACK-TO-BACK weekend events to kick off the year! celebrating Mlk weekend @barbaracaresfoundation hosted a community outreach event at parkside missionary baptist church in fort worth to expand access to free mammogram screenings. another cold winter day but the tent is always helpful to ensure outreach goes on; we also had the heater onsite to keep staff and volunteers comfortable. the site location was along the route of the fort worth mlk parade. we were able to provide information to the parade participants and SIGN-UP indiviDUALS in need of a mammogram.

Did you know? Breast cancer is the most common cancer among African American women, and they are 40% more likely to die from the disease compared to other races. This disparity highlights the importance of early detection, education, and support.
