My mother has stage 4 breast cancer and it is spreading rapidly. I contacted Barbara Cares in search of resources due to my mom's air going out. This agency was so prompt and compassionate with their response. I was blew away by how much care and concern they showed for me as a caretaker and my mother. They were able to assist her with a portable air conditioner unit, food and also items to keep her safe during Covid 19. Mission Statement:
BarbaraCares purpose is to address, educate, coordinate, provide aid and relief to breast cancer patients and their families as they journey the road toward complete and total healing; while providing access to free screenings to save lives. We focus on the next step(s) because there is always a next step and giving up is not an option!
Action:
We provide free educational seminars, health fairs, free screenings (mammograms), risk pamphlets , financial aid, food assistance and accountability groups. In addition, BarbaraCares will provide access to resources available to patients and their families via public venues as well as utilizing social media platforms and our website. BarbaraCares raises awareness through our volunteers that we send out into the community making others aware about our cause and the impact cancer has not only on the person affected but their family as well.
Community:
We hold fundraising events to provide immediate relief and assistance to those suffering regardless of race, gender, ethnicity or religion. To help maximize our impact, BarbaraCares may seek to partner with other non-profit organizations which fall under the 501(c)(3) of the IRS code which also operate exclusively to help cancer patients.
There is life still to be lived despite cancer. This is not the end!
