Texas State Capitol (Austin) - 02/10/25 - 2/11/25: BarbaraCares recently visited the Texas State Capitol to advocate for expanded access to mammogram screenings, financial relief for additional testing, and legislative prioritization of genetic testing. Early detection saves lives, and we remain committed to raising awareness and championing policies that support individuals facing critical healthcare decisions. Together, we can help remove barriers to life-saving screenings and ensure every Texan has access to the care they need.

For the at-risk, uninsured, underinsured, and those without means to afford regular screenings, these mobile health events are a welcome and vital opportunity within the community. We've heard countless stories from women who had gone years without a mammogram, who are grateful and often emotional because someone thought enough to come to them in their neighborhoods and during times that are convenient for their busy lives. BarbaraCares was honored to partner once again with the historic Golden Gate Church of God in Christ in Fort Worth for a free mammogram screening event. For years, Golden Gate has been a trusted site for back-to-school giveaways and community resources, and today was no exception.
As families picked up school supplies and backpacks, parents also received critical health screenings—meeting both educational and healthcare needs in one place. We’re grateful for this continued partnership and the opportunity to serve our community together.

Pink Wash Car Wash Recap – October 4, 2025
BarbaraCares proudly partnered with Quick Quack Car Wash for the annual Pink Wash Car Wash to kick off Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This year, our team spanned two metroplex locations--Arlington and Irving—to engage the community in both awareness and action.
Every car washed that day not only left sparkling clean but also helped fund our mission to provide mammograms and essential support services for Texas breast cancer patients. Attendees drove away with resource materials from BarbaraCares, including self-breast exam kits, mammogram locator cards, health fair invitations, and informational infographics about the foundation and available funding for those in active treatment.
With nearly 30 dedicated volunteers, the day was filled with sunshine, smiles, and service. We were honored to raise awareness, connect with the community, and see neighbors come together in support of a meaningful cause.

The event beautifully celebrated strength, courage, and hope as survivors graced the runway, sharing stories that were inspiring, encouraging, and deeply powerful.
We are proud to partner with community-minded businesses like Brighton, whose commitment to giving back helps sustain vital breast cancer outreach and support efforts. Throughout October, Brighton is fundraising to benefit BarbaraCares, while we provide resource materials including self-breast exam kits, mammogram locator cards, and foundation infographics outlining available funding for those currently in treatment.

A special highlight of the day: Mayor Jim Ross stopped by to present BarbaraCares with an official City of Arlington Proclamation recognizing our ongoing efforts to promote awareness, provide screenings, and offer vital support to those facing breast cancer. 💗
We’re deeply thankful to every volunteer, staff member, and community partner who made this day possible — and to every woman who took that important step toward early detection.
Together, we are saving lives through awareness and action.

PINK OUT GAME 2.0 - NORTH ARLINGTON LITTLE LEAGUE : NOVEMBER 01, 2025

THANKFUL GIVING EVENT : NOVEMBER 22, 2025
Great outreach day! @barbaracaresfoundation joined @dayspringfamilychurch to partner for their annual Thanksgiving outreach. 3,000 families were provided turkeys and the side items for a complete thanksgiving meal. During the event, we provided information on free mammograms courtesy of @bradiej @thebradiejamesfoundation56 for local residents in DFW. Attendees also received a free breast check self exam kit. As part of our organizational #ThankfulGiving and #MammogramsMatter initiative, this outreach allowed tangible resources and health care provided directly to the community to both help save and support lives.
